Prior to being elected as Majority Leader, Representative Bell served as the House Majority Whip. “While serving as Majority Whip, I was able to get to know each and every one of my colleagues in the House and learn the concerns and needs of their districts. I have listened to all factions within our Caucus and strived to ensure each member’s voice was heard throughout the legislative process,” said Representative Bell.
In his new position, Representative Bell hopes to help unify the Caucus and promote effective communication. “As a Caucus, we are stronger together. Let me be very clear, the Republican majority is not at stake. We will out work our opposition. We have better candidates. We have a better message of economic growth, improved teacher salaries, and a more business-friendly regulatory landscape that will attract voters on Election Day.” Representative Bell has stated he will serve out this term and will seek the Majority Leader position for the next biennium, if reelected to his seat.
In his second term, Representative Bell represents parts of Craven, Greene, Lenoir, and Wayne Counties in the North Carolina House of Representative’s 10th District. Bell is Chairman of the House Regulatory Reform Committee and the House Select Committee on Wildlife Resources. He works in business development for North Carolina Community Federal Credit Union in Goldsboro, where he lives with his wife Kelli Gurley Bell and their daughter Averi Bell.
